The Cerro San Pedro gold-silver deposit is located along the western margin of the Sierra Madre Oriental fold belt within a sequence of Cretaceous limestone that have been intruded by an early Tertiary diorite porphyry that mineralized the surrounding limestones and is host to the gold-silver bearing oxide resource currently being mined. A larger zone of gold-silver-zinc-lead sulfide mineralization underlies the gold-silver oxide resource and is currently undergoing exploration drilling by New Gold.
