Mesquite Mines is a medium size gold mining operation located in Imperial County, California that re-started production in 2008. Mesquite Mines employs over 255 people including 230 employees and 25 contractors. Our recruitment process aims at securing quality people who will ensure the continued success of our operation.
The mine operates at full capacity, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The shift roster involves different schedules that may vary by department. These include 4-10, rotating 7, and 9-80 schedules. Prior to starting work, all employees are involved in a 'pre-start safety meeting' as part of New Gold Inc.'s constant commitment to safety. At the end of every shift there is a handover to ensure that those starting work are up-to-date with work activities.
